14  | 漢高帝時，有四人年老，以上慢侮，逃匿山中，義不為漢臣，謂之四皓。高帝不能致。及將廢太子，太子迎四人至，侍從太子，須眉皓白，衣冠甚偉。高帝既見，曰：「煩公幸卒護太子。」太子由是不廢。至孝武帝，又為太子立博望苑，使通賓客。晉元康元年，愍懷太子始之東宮，惠帝詔曰：「幼蒙，今出止東宮，雖賴師傅群賢之訓，其遊處左右，宜得正人能相長益者。太保衛峩息庭，司空隴西王泰息略、太子太傅楊濟息毖、太子少師裴楷息憲、太子少傅華е息恆，各道義之門，有不肅之訓。其令五人更往來，與太子習數，備賓友也。」其時雖非官，而謂之東宮賓客，皆選文義之士，以侍儲皇。其後無聞。唐顯慶元年正月，以太子太傅兼侍中韓瑗、中書令來濟、禮部尚書許敬宗、左僕射兼太子少師於志寧並為皇太子賓客，遂為官員，定置四人。掌調護、侍從、規諫。凡太子有賓客之事，則為上齒，蓋取象於四皓焉。資位閑重，其流不雜。 |
