72  | 女之事夫，猶士之事君，當秉天地剛正之氣，忠節雖殊，其分一也。予嘗怪司馬公之作史也，㳺俠者傳焉，貨殖者傳焉，而不傳烈女行，何耶？蓋是時去古未逺，風節尚存，人知守一而已，而不知他也，降及東漢，猶庶幾焉，雖曹操之奸，雄終其身，不敢簒漢，皇甫規妻寜，死而不負其夫，亦可知矣。噫！世道日降，風俗日漓，自元迄今，吾邑得婦之貞烈者三，其中亦有幸不幸也，其幸者朱虎妻茅氏，旌表門閭，名照青史水徳妻李氏，䇿名天府，播之聲詩，亦已至矣。嗚呼！其不幸者，則太倉周氏女於白刃之下，從容就死，可謂難矣，而采風者遺之，獨錢翁一傳存焉，是可嘆也。雖然君子盡其在我者而已，豈復論其幸哉？為臣婦者，觀此亦可以少助剛正之氣矣。 |
