乙卯，发丧，《考异》曰：《大业略记》曰：「十八日，发丧。」杜宝《大业杂记》曰：「甲戌，文帝崩。辛巳，发丧。壬午，炀帝卽位。」按《长历》，是月乙未朔。乙卯，二十一日也。无甲戌、辛巳、壬午日。今从《隋书》。太子卽皇帝位。会伊州刺史杨约来朝，杨约出刺伊州，见上卷二年。朝，直遥翻。太子遣约入长安，易留守者，矫称高祖之诏，赐故太子勇死，缢杀之；缢，于赐翻。然后陈兵集衆，发高祖凶问。炀帝闻之，书炀帝以别大行。曰：「令兄之弟，果堪大任。」追封勇为房陵王，不为置嗣。房陵郡王。《隋志》：房陵郡光迁县，旧曰房陵，置新城郡；梁末置岐州；后周，郡县并改为光迁；大业初，置房陵郡。《考异》曰：《大业略记》云：「庶人勇八男，亦阴加酖害，恐其为厉，皆倒埋之。」按《隋书》、《北史》皆云「炀帝践极，俨常从行，卒于道，实酖之也。诸弟分徒岭表，仍敕在所皆杀焉。」今从之。按《通鉴》下文，大业三年杀俨及七弟。八月丁卯，梓宫至自仁寿宫；丙子，殡于大兴前殿。大兴前殿，大兴宫正殿也。柳述、元岩并除名，述徙龙川，岩徙南海。《隋志》：龙川郡，平陈置循州。南海郡，旧置广州。帝令兰陵公主与述离绝，欲改嫁之；公主以死自誓，不复朝谒，复，扶又翻。朝，直遥翻。上表请与述同徙，帝大怒。公主忧愤而卒，临终，上表请葬于柳氏，帝愈怒，竟不哭，葬送甚薄。上，时掌翻。卒，子恤翻。
