35  | 壬子，知祥發洛陽。帝尋復遣衣甲庫使馬彥珪復，扶又翻；下后復同。衣甲庫使，盛唐無之，蓋帝所置，亦內諸司使之一也。馳詣成都觀崇韜去就，如奉詔班師則已，若有遷延跋扈之狀，則與繼岌圖之。觀莊宗所以命孟知祥、馬彥珪者如此，就使李從襲等不以劉后教行之，崇韜得東還，亦必不能自全矣。彥珪見皇后，說之曰：說，式芮翻。「臣見向延嗣言蜀中事勢憂在朝夕，今上當斷不斷，言帝詔旨持兩端，無決然使殺崇韜之命。斷，丁亂翻。夫成敗之機，間不容髮，安能緩急稟命于三千里外乎！」成都至洛陽三千二百一十六里，見舊唐書地理志。皇后復言于帝，帝曰：「傳聞之言，未知虛實，豈可遽爾果決！」皇后不得請，退，自為教與繼岌，令殺崇韜。知祥行至石壕，石壕村在陝縣東、新安縣西，杜少陵詩所謂「暮投石壕村」者也。九域志：陝州陝縣有石壕鎮。彥珪夜叩門宣詔，促知祥赴鎮，知祥竊歎曰：「亂將作矣！」乃晝夜兼行。孟知祥倍道而行，非能救郭崇韜之死也，恐崇韜死而生他變耳。 |
