5  | 晟，陟第二子也。伪封勤王，又封晋王。玢之立也，多行淫虐，人皆患之，晟因与其弟伪越王昌等同谋弑玢，自立为帝，改元为应乾，又改为乾和。晟率性荒暴，得志之后，专以威刑御下，多诛灭旧臣及其昆仲，数年之间，宗族殆尽。又造生地狱，凡汤镬、铁床之类，无不备焉。人有小过，咸被其苦。及湖南马氏昆弟寻戈，晟因其衅，遣兵攻桂林管内诸郡及郴、连、梧、贺等州，皆克之，自此全有南越之地。周显德五年秋八月，晟以疾卒，伪谥曰文武光圣明孝皇帝，庙号中宗，陵曰昭陵。是岁，晟以六月望夜宴于甘泉宫，是夕月有食之，测在牛女之度，晟自览占书，既而投之于地，曰：「自古岂有长存者乎！」纵长夜之饮，至是而卒。 |
