張　欽字敬之，順天通州人，正徳六年進士，以御史巡視居庸闗，武宗將出闗，幸宣府，欽上疏諌，不報，帝微行至昌平，傳開闗甚急，欽謂分守中官劉嵩曰：「車駕將出闗，是我與君死生之㑹也！闗不開，違天子命，當死闗！𨳩車駕出，萬一有如土木，我與君亦死，等死，寜死不開關」。乃命指揮孫璽閉闗，納門鑰蔵之，頃之，帝召璽，璽曰：「御史在，臣不敢擅離」。更召嵩，嵩曰：「我上家奴也，敢不赴？」欽因負勅印手劍，坐闗門下曰：「敢言開闗者，斬！」秉燭草疏奏未達，使者復來，欽拔劍叱之曰：「此詐也！」使者懼而返，曰：「張御史㡬殺臣」。帝大怒，命朱寧捕殺御史，㑹閣臣等追至沙河，而欽疏亦至，帝乃歸。又二十餘日，欽巡白羊口，帝微服疾馳出闗，數問：御史安在，欽聞追之，已不及，復疏諫，而帝命谷大用守闗人，不得出，欽感憤，西望慟哭，於是世傳張御史閉闗三疏云。

張　欽字敬之，通州右衛籍正德進士，授行人，旋擢御史，奉勅廵視居庸闗，時武宗欲北狩，乗輿已廹闗矣，欽閉闗，堅請囘鑾武廟，壮其忠遂止，聲望益隆，忤當道，出知陜西漢中府，未㡬總制都御史楊一清時薦，陞按察司副使，兵備延綏，歴陞福建布政使，進太僕寺卿，遷都察院右副都御史，巡撫四川，陞工部右侍郎。
