11  | 俞貞木字有立，錢芹字繼忠，皆蘇人。革除年間，蘇守姚善好禮賢士，有立以明經見重於守，月朔望必延至講書府學。嘗令吏饋米於有立，誤送繼忠。吏惶恐白守，將取還，有立云：「錢先生與人不苟合，尤不苟取與。今受米不辭，必知公之賢耳。」守驚異，即令人請見。繼忠對使者云：「吾為郡民，有召敢不赴。但吾心未宿戒，不可輕往，他日可也。」他日，浣濯衣冠，齋沐而往。守甚喜，延之別室，請問經義，繼忠云：「此士子之務耳。公為政，何不談時務而及此邪？」守益起敬，遂問今日何者為急務？繼忠令屏左右，云：「今日之務，勤王為急。」守躍然而悟，於是密結鎮、常、嘉、松四郡守，訓練其民，率先赴行，竟死其事。 |
