29  | 吳海，字朝宗，閩縣人。隠居不仕，學周、程、張、朱之學，一時名人如貢師泰、林泉生、藍晦、王翰，皆雅重之。初，承父命，欲徙居東，魯逡廵二十餘年，而道路不通，乃自號魯生。或譏曰：「子自擬兩生乎？」海曰：「非也，吾將居魯，取其名也。質魯，取其義也。且吾學仲尼之道，謂之魯生，不亦可乎？」明初，部使者欲薦於朝，力辭不赴。居家採摭古今孝子、順孫、節婦、烈女與兄弟相友，娣姒相睦者，附以格言，至論以教鄉里。又著書言：「楊、墨、佛、老為六經之賊，管、商、申、韓為治道之賊，遺事外傳為史氏之賊，蕪詞荒說，為文章之賊，皆足惑人欲上之人，悉取其書而禁絶之，使天下曉然知正道，慕鄒、魯之風，為文雅奥，嚴整而歸諸理。自顔所居為聞，過齋而為之箴曰：過而人告之者，幸也。過而不聞，不幸也。告之而不受，受之而不悔，悔之而不改，是自棄也。海雖不敏，忍自棄乎？著《聞過齋集》，學者稱聞過先生。 |
