119  | ，二十一年春正月，召王錫爵復入閣，錫爵至，宻請建儲以踐大信，帝手詔欲待嫡子令元子與兩弟，且並封為王。錫爵懼失上指，立奉詔擬㫖，進又外慮公論，因言漢明帝馬后、唐明皇王后、宋真宗劉后皆養諸妃子為子，請令皇后撫育元子，而生母不必崇位號，以上壓皇貴妃，亦擬㫖進，帝竟下前諭，令有司具儀，于是舉朝大譁。禮部尚書羅萬化、給事中史孟麟等詣錫爵力争，廷臣諌者章日數上。錫爵偕趙志臯、張位請追還前詔，帝不從。既而諫者益衆。岳元聲顧允成等十餘人遮錫爵于朝，靣争之。錫爵請下廷議，不許。請面對，亦不報，因自劾求罷。帝亦廹公議，追寢前命，命少俟二三年舉行。 |
