48  | 崇禎二年，起順天府府尹。先生以首善之地，欲躬行教化，以為天下有司倡殫心職業，屢請薄賦斂以厚民生，省刑罰以重民命。又以京兆職掌久廢，請飭定制行久任之法，嚴考察之典以宣治化。於是興學校，申功令，講鄉約，嚴保甲，頒文公家禮，俾鄉鄙服習先生，風裁孤峻。其遇豪貴，不少假借。武清伯奴子，與諸生争道，諸生受毆投牒，使吏入武清家捕之。武清及門言狀，先生拒不見。捕益急，始出捶撲數十，荷校武清門外，厲禁倡優。一日，道遇優什，具麾隷收之，曰：「此司禮太監樂器先生曰：干禁者，即公侯不汝貸，況宮奴乎？焚之單丁下戶，則周恤情隱，雖兵革匡勷，皆有恃而不恐，輦轂稱肅。 |
