| 78 | 嘉靖中，科道雒遵馬三樂等會議，曰：「故禮部侍郎薛瑄鍾河、汾之霛秀，接洙、泗之正，𫝊學以復性為本，以敬為要，窮理以擴其欲，力行以踐，其實潛心。孔、孟寤寐，程、朱自許衡而下，造詣未有或之先者也。夷攷其平生剛方正直，不畏強禦，清修苦節，可質神明，拳拳乎致君堯、舜而不隨世以就功名，侃侃乎許身稷、契而不因難以移厥志。知行兼全，表裏無間，誠昭代理學名臣之首，出純粹而無雜者也。矧今士習漸流，道貞日晦，講良知者以頓悟為妙，而略居敬窮理之功。論道體者，以幻空為言，而昧理一分殊之實，非惟不足以明道而適所以病道也。兹欲挽之于正，惟在表章真儒，使卓然知所崇，尚庶乎彰懿行於將來，振儒宗於百代。大道昭明，而正學丕著，其於世教，非小補云。 |
