初，英宗欲迷洪武以來厯朝舊制，條其因革，纂為一書，事未克竟。前五年春，帝乃詔閣臣輯之，以官戰制度為綱，事物名數、儀文等級為目，其有損益同異者，據事繫年彚列于後，名曰大明㑹典，至是書成，凡一百八十卷，大學士劉健等表上之。質實。明史藝文志：明㑹典二百二十八卷，乃萬厯中重修者。健等初奉詔，綦是書總裁為健，與李東陽、謝遷副總裁，為吳寛、傅瀚、王鍫、楊守阯、張元禎、癸亥十六年春正月，雲南叅議郭緒諭降孟養初，孟宻宣撫使之設也，實割木邦宣慰司地，既而孟宻思揲，復于界外侵木邦地二十七所，屢諭之還，不聼，乃調孟飬宣撫思祿兵脅之思揲始還所侵地，然多殺孟飬兵。思祿讐之，發兵越金沙江奪木邦，故割孟宻地十有三所，兩酋搆怨不已，廵撫陳金承詔遣緒與副使曹玉徃諭，旬餘抵金齒，叅將盧和先統軍距所㨿地二程而舍，遣官馳驛徃諭，皆留不報，和懼，還軍至干崖，遇緒，語故，戒勿進，緒不可，玉以疾辭，緒遂單騎從數人行，旬日至南甸，峻險不可騎，乃斬棘徒歩引繼以登，又旬日至一大澤，土官以象輿來，緒乘之徃行，毒霧中，泥沙踸踔，又旬日至，孟頼去金沙江，僅二舍，手自為檄，使特過江，諭以朝廷招徠意，蠻人相顧驚曰：「中國使竟至此乎？」發兵率象馬數萬夜渡江，指長槊勁弩環之數重，從行者懼，請勿進，緒拔刀叱日，明日必渡江，敢阻者斬。思祿既得檄，見譬曉禍福甚備，又聞至者纔數人，乃遣首長來聼，令且致饋，緒卻之，出敕諭宣示，思祿亦繼至，緒先敘其勞，次白其寃狀，然後責其叛，諸酋聞威俛伏呼萬嵗，請歸侵地，緒詰前所留使人，乃盡出而歸之，和及玉聞報馳至，則已歸地納欵矣。質實，孟頼砦，在今孟定土府東南。郭緒，字繼業，太康人。二月，改卜郊。
