命祿帥師築赤城、鵰鶚、雲州、獨石、團山城堡，敕大同、宣府總兵官及府州各發兵夫赴役，仍令以精騎防䕶，皆聽祿節制，并賜之詩，有「出車命南仲城齊，維山甫」句祿稽首受賜，退，問楊士竒、南仲山甫何如，士竒具以告，曰：「上以古賢人待爾也。禄拊心曰：禄武夫，敢望前賢」。然上所命，不敢不勉。質實，赤城堡以元赤城站置。水經注：沽水逕赤城東，即此。本朝康熈三十二年改置赤城縣，屬宣化府。團山堡在明故永寜縣西北十五里，今延慶州東。五月，以郎中況鍾等九人為知府，賜勅遣之。帝以知府多循資格，不稱職，㑹雄劇地九郡缺，守命大臣舉京官亷能者用之，乃擢鍾及郎中趙豫莫愚、羅以禮，員外郎陳本深邵旻、馬儀，御史何文淵、陳鼎等，皆賜勅，俾馳騎之任。其冬，復用薛廣等二十九人亦如之，諸人俱有治績，有居官至一二十年者，吏稱其職，民安其業，一時烝烝稱盛，而其間尤著聲者。況鍾、趙、豫、鍾在蘇州，務鋤豪強，植良弱，興利除
