文自廣東左布政使丁母憂，特召為詹事，侍東宫講讀。呂原卒，帝問李賢：「誰可代者？」對曰：「柯潛可」。出告王翶曰：「陳文年資皆深舉，潜置文何地！」明日，賢入見，固請用文帝，乃許之。文既入閣，每事與賢爭曰：「吾非若所舉也」。質實，陳文，字安簡，廬陵人。柯潛，字孟時，莆田人。夏四月，殺巡按御史李蕃。
