帝即位後，大白常畫見，至是，御史倪敬、盛㫤、杜宥、黃讓、羅俊、汪清以灾異頻仍，請罷齊僧，輟游宴，止興作，寛直臣之囚。疏入，帝不懌。未幾，都御史蕭維禎考察其屬，諭令去之，遂黜敬等為典史。質實，倪敬，字汝敬，無鍚人。社宥，江隂人。黃讓，無湖人。羅俊，安福人。汪清，固始人。。八月，杖南京大理少卿廖莊於闕下，謫為驛丞，復下禮部郎中章綸、御史鍾同於獄，同死，綸仍錮獄。先一年，莊在南京，疏言：「臣曩見上皇遣使冊封陛下，毎遇慶節，必令羣臣朝謁東廡。今上皇在南宮，願陛下時時朝見，或講論家法，或商㩁治道，嵗時令節，命羣臣朝見，以慰上皇之心。又言太子者，天下之本，上皇諸子，陛下之猶子也，宜令親儒臣，督書䇿，以待皇嗣之生，使天下臣民曉然知陛下有公天下之意。疏入，不報。及是，莊以事至京，詣東角門朝見，帝憶前疏，大恕命杖八十，謫定羌驛丞，左右言事皆由鍾同倡實罪魁，帝乃封巨梃就獄中，杖同及綸各百，同竟死，綸死而復甦，繫如故。是年，刑科給事中徐正請間言事亟，召入，乃言上皇臨御嵗乆，沂王嘗位儲副，天下臣民仰戴，不宜居于南宮，宜遷置所封之地，以絶人望，別選親王子育之宮中。帝驚愕大怒，立叱出之，命謫逺仕，已復得其滛穢事，遂謫戍鐵嶺衛。又御史髙平亦言南城多樹事巨測，遂盡伐之。時盛暑，上皇嘗倚樹憇息及樹，伐得其故，大懼。至天順復辟後，正、平皆伏誅，贈同大理寺左丞，釋綸于獄，命內侍檢綸前疏不得，內侍從旁誦數語，帝嗟嘆再三，擢禮部侍郎。質實，定羌城在河州南九十里，廖莊字安止，吉水人。按明實録，莊上疏在五年七月，鍾同之上疏也，策馬出馬，伏地不肯起，同叱曰：「吾不畏死，爾奚為者！」馬猶盤辟再四，乃行。同死，馬長號數聲，亦死。徐正，吴江人。髙平，里籍，未詳。
