83	王振至內間，語楊士奇、楊榮曰：「朝廷事乆勞，公等公等皆髙年倦矣，當若何？」士奇曰：「老臣盡瘁報國，死而後已」。榮曰：「不然，吾軰衰殘，無以効力，當釋後生可任者，報聖恩耳」。振喜而退。士奇咎榮，榮曰：「彼厭吾輩矣，一旦內中出片紙，令某人入閣，且奈何？及此時，進一二賢者，同心輔政，尚可為也」。士奇以為然，翌口列愉、鼐及侍講學士苗衷，侍講髙穀名，以進倫務，遂先彼擢用質實，馬愉，字性和，臨胊人。苗表，字秉彝，定逺人。髙榖，字世用，揚州興化人，同曹鼐共四人，皆帝初御經筵，士奇等所薦。三月，建北京宮殿。
