4  | 明太祖遣萊州知州趙秩，往諭國主良懷，因通朝貢，設市舶司於浙東互市。由是，倭熟識邊隘，㓂警時聞。及胡惟庸謀反，約倭伏兵貢艘中。惟庸誅，絶倭朝貢，命信國公湯和築沿海四十九城以防之；獨市舶未之絶也。後以內監領市舶司，嗜利朘削；兼商牙歇家，交相為奸，負倭債累萬盈千。倭大恚，以挾國主貲而來，子母俱失，不得歸；因盤踞島中。海上窮困無頼之徒為之勾引，遂萌劫掠心。嘉靖二年，𡨴波市舶司番僧宋設燬嘉賔館、劫東庫，直趨紹興西霍洋，殺備倭指揮劉錦、千戸張鏜，官兵莫之抗。由是，倭輕中國，悉境而來，歲漸增。內地巨猾投賊為用，破浙東杭、嘉、湖、蘇、松、常、鎭、淮揚至南通州諸沿江郡縣不下數百處，殺傷人民百餘萬；守土以喪地被逮、總師以失律受誅者無數。迨總督胡宗憲計擒巨猾徐海、汪直，而總兵俞大猷、戚繼光殲倭殆盡；至嘉靖四十三年，始平。于是罷市舶，嚴通番之禁；倭氛漸息。 |
