1  | 元祐元年十月□日，翰林學士朝奉郎知制誥蘇軾札子奏。臣伏見太子太保致仕張方平，以高才絕識，博學雄文，出入中外四十餘年，號稱名臣。仁宗皇帝眷遇至重，特以受性剛簡，論高寡合，故齟齬於世。然趙元昊反，西方用兵，累歲不解，公私疲極。方平首建和戎之策，仁宗從之，民以息肩，書之國史。又於熙寧之初，首論王安石不可用，及新法之行，方平皆逆陳其害。大節如此。其餘政事文學，有補於世，未易悉數。神宗皇帝知人之明，擢為執政，會丁憂服除，為安石等不悅，而方平亦不為少屈，故不複用。今已退老南都，以患眼不出，灰心槁形，與世相忘。臣竊以為國之元老，歷事四朝，耄期稱道，為天下所服者，獨文彥博與方平、範鎮三人而已。今彥博在廷，鎮亦複用，方平雖老，杜門難以召致，猶當加恩勞問，表異其人，以示二聖貴老尊賢之義。今獨置而不問，有識共疑，以為闕典。願因大禮之後，以向者召陪祠不至，特出聖意，少加恩禮，或遣使就問國事，觀其所論，必有過人。臣忝備禁近，不敢自外，昧冒陳列，戰越待罪。取進止。 |
