39  | 呂陶，字符鈞，成都人。少善屬文，年十三時，蔣堂守蜀，大集蜀士，因出陶文以示之，曰「此賈誼才也」。於是一座大驚，名震蜀中堂。一日，與陶共讀寺碑，酒闌，命陶書之，不謬一字。登進士第，以唐介薦，應熙寧制科。是時，王安石行新法，陶對策數其過，及奏安石讀卷未半，神色頗沮。神宗覺之，使馮京竟讀，稱其言有理。司馬光、范鎮喜謂陶曰：「自安石用事，吾輩言不復效，不意君及於此」。陶雖入等，僅得通判蜀州，遷知彭州。李杞、蒲宗閔榷茶騷擾，陶言：「川蜀產茶，不及東南什一諸路通商，而兩川獨禁。且茶園本是稅地，出租賦供衣食，非解鹽進礬之比。今乃立法太嚴，取息太重，使良民罔陷刑辟，非陛下仁民愛物之意」。宗閔怒，劾其阻法，責監淮南酒稅。元祐初，擢侍御史，疏逐蔡確、韓縝、張璪、章敦，以清朝廷。會議行差役，陶言：「新舊二法，須裁量得中」。遂詔陶定議，極其精宻，民以為便。朱光庭劾奏「蘇軾策館職題目，陶言：「議者皆謂軾嘗戲薄程頤，光庭乃頤門人，故為報怨。夫欲加軾罪，何所不可？必指其策問以為譏謗，恐朋黨之禍自此起矣」。由是兩置不問。累遷左諫議、知梓州，入為起居舍人。大臣上殿，有乞屏左右及史官者，陶曰：「屏左右已不可，況史官乎？大臣奏事而史官不得聞，是私言耳，不足為令官」。終集賢院學士、知陳州，卒。 |
