63  | 易應昌，字瑞芝，臨川人。萬厯進士。授甌寧令，擢御史，巡漕督江北學政，晉大理少卿。忤璫削奪，璫敗，以副院起佐臺。時京師有囚獄之變，帝震怒，司寇中丞皆以忤㫖下法司，少司寇及廷尉皆不敢出一語，獨應昌奮筆請從寛擬，上不可，應昌曰：「法如是，止矣，臣不敢以一官易一命也」。三復執奏如初。上愈怒，遂并寘應昌於辟閣部，皆力救，不聽。㑹天日晝晦，雷震殿庭，上悔悟，趣詔停刑。辛未春，旱，保章氏奏言大臣有寃。上始出應昌等論戍。後數載敘復。 |
