191  | 劉楗，字公愚，北直大城人。順治丙戌進士，考選給事中，出為平陽道副使。康熙九年，任江西布政使。壬子嵗災，南九二郡特甚。楗親往賑濟，收兌錢糧，主藏吏以羨餘進，曰：「此成規也」。楗曰：「官則自私耳，何成規之？」有屛不納。癸丑，入覲，疏請蠲南昌府浮額糧，下部未覆。明年春，陞太常卿。在道聞江西冦亂，疾驅而至。時人心洶懼，見楗至，咸迎馬首呼曰：「劉公至，吾屬無憂矣」。故事，藩伯既擢交代，不必待新任，而糧道姚啟盛先署藩篆，力任事趣，楗行楗持不可，即日授印視事，庀餉籌兵，多方固圉，江城賴以定。累官至刑部尚書。 |
