22  | 二十七年春正月，大學士夏言罷。初，河套之議，言力主之。嚴嵩積憾言，且欲躐其首輔，於是因災異疏陳缺失，謂：「曾銑開邊啟釁，誤國大計所致。夏言表裏雷同，淆亂國事，當罪。」遂罷言，逮銑詣京，出兵部尚書王以旂總督軍務。廷臣議罪，凡與議復套者，悉奪俸，并罰言官，廷杖有差。於是復套事宜悉為停止。 |
