8  | 八月，召山東提學僉事薛瑄為大理寺左少卿。初，王振問楊士奇曰：「吾鄉人誰可大用者？」士奇薦瑄，乃有是召。至京朝見，不謁振。振至閣下，問：「何不見薛少卿？」二楊為謝。振知李賢素與瑄厚，召至閣下，令致己意，且言振素問之。賢至朝房與瑄言，瑄曰：「厚德亦為是言乎？拜爵公朝，謝恩私室，吾不為也。」久之，振知其意，亦不復問。一日，會議東閣，公卿見振皆拜，一人獨立。振知其為瑄也，先揖之，且告罪。然自是益深銜之。 |
