23  | 乙丑，鎮江府左軍統領員琦及金人戰于揚州皂角林，敗之。初，金人既得揚州，即遣兵逐劉錡，與官軍遇，至是大軍來爭，瓜洲渡，錡命統制官賈和仲、吳超等拒之于皂角，林琦陷重圍，下馬死戰數十合，中軍第四將王佐以歩卒百有四人徃林中設伏，金既入，張弩俄發，金以運河岸狹，非騎兵之利，稍引去，遂大敗之，斬統軍髙景山，俘數百人，時諸處以報㨗旗趨行在者，絡繹于道路，市人為之語曰：「雖日聞報㨗可喜，但一報近如一報，亦可憂」。督視軍馬葉義問讀錡㨗報至，金人又添生兵，顧謂侍史曰：「生兵是何物？」聞者皆笑，當時謂之「土園樞宻」。 |
