129  | 劉楚先，字衡野，江陵人。隆慶辛未進士，授檢討。累官禮部侍郎，兼學士。神宗時，國儲未定，先七疏請冠婚期，不報，至以死争免官歸。十六年，起禮部尚書，掌詹事府事。張差之獄，廷臣交撃，上震怒。章皆不下，先疏言：「張差入皇宫，自有應坐之律，當即時正法，何至張大其事以傷國體乎？」疏入，神宗恱，即時出朝，召見百官。衆賀曰：「公真老成，能斷大事，吾儕不及也」。卒，贈太傅，諡文恪。 |
