28  | 匡衡，字稚圭，東海承人。好學，家貧，傭作，以供資用，尤精力過人，諸儒為之語曰：「無說詩，匡鼎來」。匡說《詩》解人，頤衡射策甲第，以不應令除為太常掌故，調補平原文學。學者多上書薦衡，經明當世，少雙不宜在逺方，事下蕭望之等問，衡對深美。宣帝不甚用儒，遣衡歸官，而皇太子見衡，對私善之。及元帝即位，以為郎中，遷博士、給事中。㑹日蝕地震，衡上疏陳政治得失，帝悅其言，遷為光祿大夫、太子少傅。居數年，拜御史大夫，代韋𤣥成為丞相，封樂安侯。後坐事免為庶人，終於家。子咸亦明經，歴位九卿家世，多為博士者。 |
