其後三年，有司言元宜以天瑞命，不宜以一二數。集解蘇林曰：「得黃龍鳳皇諸瑞，以名年。」正義孝景以前即位，以一二數年至其終。武帝即位，初有年號，改元以建元為始。一元曰建元，二元以長星曰元光，三元以郊得一角獸曰元狩云。集解徐廣曰：「案諸紀元光後有元朔，元朔後得元狩。」

司馬相如旣卒集解徐廣曰：「元狩五年也。」五歲，天子始祭后土。八年而遂先禮中嶽，正義嵩高也，在洛州陽城縣西北二十二里。封于太山，正義在兗州博城縣西北三十里。至梁父禪肅然。集解徐廣曰：「小山，在泰山下趾東北。」
