聿之，安定郡王叔东子也。建炎中，为成忠郎。金人围潭州，帅臣向子諲率众守城，聿之隶东壁。子諲循城，顾聿之曰：「君宗室，不可效他人茍简。」聿之感慨流涕。金兵登城纵火，子諲率官吏突门遁去，城遂陷，聿之巷战，大骂而死。将官武经郎刘玠亦死之。事闻，赠聿之左监门卫大将军，玠武经大夫，皆官其家。其后朱熹为请立庙，赐号忠节。
