2  | 司马光，字君实，陜州夏县人也。父池，天章阁待制。光生七岁，凛然如成人，闻讲《左氏春秋》，爱之，退为家人讲，即了其大指。自是手不释书，至不知饥渴寒暑。群儿戏于庭，一儿登瓮，足跌没水中，众皆弃去，光持石击瓮破之，水迸，儿得活。其后京、洛间画以为图。仁宗宝元初，中进士甲科。年甫冠，性不喜华靡，闻喜宴独不戴花，同列语之曰：「君赐不可违。」乃簪一枝。 |
| 62 | 刘永一，陜州夏县人。孝友廉谨。熙宁初，巫咸水溢入县城，民多溺死。永一持竿立门前，见他人物流入者辄掷出之。有僧寓钱数万于其室，无何而僧死，永一诣县自言，请以钱归其弟子。乡人负债不肯偿，立焚其券。行事类此。兄大为，医助教。居亲丧，不饮酒食肉，终三年。司马光传之，以为今士大夫所难。 |
