53  | 景德二年春，表请归洛。陛辞日，肩舆至东园门，命二子掖以升殿，因言：「远人请和，弭兵省财，古今上策，惟愿陛下以百姓为念。」上嘉纳之，因迁从简太子洗马，知简奉礼郎。蒙正至洛，有园亭花木，日与亲旧宴会，子孙环列，迭奉寿觞，怡然自得。大中祥符而后，上朝永熙陵，封泰山，祠后土，过洛，两幸其第，锡赉有加。上谓蒙正曰：「卿诸子孰可用？」对曰：「诸子皆不足用。有侄夷简，任颖州推官，宰相才也。」夷简由是见知于上。 |
