18  | 元祐元年二月，始遣使入貢。五月，遣鼎利、罔豫章來賀哲宗即位。六月，復遣訛囉聿來求所侵蘭州、米脂等五砦。使未至，蘇轍兩疏請因其請地而與之。司馬光言：「此邊鄙安危之機，不可不察。靈夏之役，本由我起，新開數砦，皆是彼田，今既許其內附，豈宜靳而不與？彼必曰：'新天子即位，我卑辭厚禮以事中國，庶幾歸我侵疆，今猶不許，則是恭順無益，不若以武力取之。'小則上書悖慢，大則攻陷新城。當此之時，不得已而與之，其為國家之恥，無乃甚于今日乎？群臣猶有見小忘大，守近遺遠，惜此無用之地，使兵連不解，為國家之憂。願決聖心，為兆民計。」時異議者衆，唯文彥博與光合，遂從之。秋七月乙丑，秉常殂，時年二十六。在位二十年，改元乾道二年，天賜禮盛國慶五年，大安十一年，天安禮定一年。諡曰康靖皇帝，廟號惠宗，墓號獻陵。子乾順立。 |
