18  | 夏四月，英人犯乍浦，副都統長喜、同知韋逢甲等戰死。時伊里布已來浙，即命家人張喜見英酋，告以撫事有成，令先退至大洋，即還所俘英人。英人如約，遂以收復乍浦奏聞。英人連陷寶山、上海，江南提督陳化成等死之，遂犯松江，陷鎮江，殺副都統海齡。淮揚鹽商懼甚，賂英師乞免。 |

| 9 | 韋逢甲，山東齊河人。道光十六年進士，用知縣，發浙江，累權宣平、餘杭、浦江等縣。英吉利既再擾寧波洋面，將寇吳淞，先以弋船三十艘進攻乍浦。時逢甲以督鑄大砲，由鎮海赴乍浦設防，就權同知。四月，敵遽由東光山上陸，屯兵皆潰。逢甲帶鄉團御於西行汛，死之。 |
