| 25 | 李福培，字仲謙，江蘇無錫人。道光二年舉人。會試十三次不遇，考教習，補左翼宗學教習。期滿，用知縣，咸豐元年，選授廣東從化縣。時廣西賊起，廣州為賊出沒所，從化界連七邑，距府城百七十里。四年，賊偪廣州，福培以花縣之石角及縣境之太平場為從化及諸邑屏障，請大府屯兵二千，兼可斷賊糧道，不報。乃自募壯丁數百人，與典史趙應端及從弟性培分將之。七月，賊數千直薄城下，福培登陴固守，率兵民力戰，凡七捷，斬八百餘級。九月，援賊大至，急解縣印授其子送省會，而誓以死守。賊舁砲攻城，裂數丈，賊蜂擁入。與應端、性培等巷戰，身受數傷，退至學宮尊經閣，猶投石殪賊，賊焚閣，三人同死之。僕周鏞、勇丁蘇兆英等皆殉難。恤福培贈知府銜，建專祠，特謚剛烈。福培就義處有血影漬地，如人形，濯之愈顯，後任建石欄護之，榜曰「忠跡昭然」。 |
