97  | 蹇諤，字一士，貴州遵義人。道光二十六年舉人。咸豐三年，大挑得教職。明年，諤還自京，適桐梓教匪楊龍喜作亂，長驅出婁山關，逼遵義。知府朱右曾要擊，敗還。賊遂以八月十六日圍城，營郭外雷臺山。是時黔中治平久，民老死不見兵革，初遭寇亂，眾洶洶欲潰。獨諤力言賊可擊，於是人心稍定。久之，官兵漸集，而賊亦日附。諤謁提督趙萬春、布政使炳綱於螺瑯堰，陳利害，請由石盤扼賊糧，拊其背，自領兵練四百人營馬家河，復募二百人益之，屢戰皆捷。 |
