45  | 唐治，字魯泉，江蘇句容人。道光五年舉人，大挑知縣，分安徽，補桐城縣。歲大水，請帑勸分，按口賑施，不假手胥吏，一月須發為白。調祁門，舊有東山書院，生童膏火取給鹽釐，治別籌捐項充經費，士商兩便之。又立義廒，積穀至數萬石。時粵賊據江寧，安徽改省治廬州，賊船上下無所忌。上書陳利害，不報；祁門無兵，依山為城，徽州以富名，賊欲圖徽，必道祁，請以兵守，又不報；而祁之奸民前苦治嚴緝者，遂為賊鄉道。道光四年正月，賊入縣屬櫸根嶺，治招集團丁，激以大義，誓共城存亡。時大洪司巡檢鍾普塘亦帶勇入城協守，賊偪西門，治督眾登陴迎戰，砲轟斃匪數十人。大股猝至，城遂陷，猶奮勇巷戰，力竭馬蹶，與普塘同時被執。誘降不可，凌辱之，不屈，以禮遇之，終不食飲，卒罵賊死。普塘同時遇害，沉尸於河。 |
