| 73 | 崇德元年正月，薩哈璘有疾，上命希福諭曰：「？子弟中，整理治道，啟我所不及，助我所不能，惟爾之賴。爾其靜心調攝，以副朕望！」薩哈璘對曰：「蒙皇上溫旨眷顧，竊冀仰荷恩育，或可得生。即不幸先填溝壑，亦復何憾。但當大勛垂集，不能盡力國家，乃展轉？蓐，為可恨耳！」希福還奏，上惻然曰：「國家豈有專事甲兵以為治理者？倘疆土日闢，克成大業，而明哲先萎，孰能助朕為理乎？」病革，屢臨視，見其羸瘠，淚下，薩哈璘亦悲痛不自勝。五月，卒。上震悼，入哭者四，自辰至午乃還。仍於庭中設幄坐，不御飲食，輟朝三日。祭時，上親奠，痛哭。詔褒薩哈璘明達敏贍，通滿、漢、蒙古文義，多所贊助，追封穎親王。上御翔鳳樓，偶假寐，夢人請曰：「穎親王乞賜牛一。」故事，親王薨，初祭以牛。薩哈璘以追封，未用，上命致祭如禮。康熙十年，追謚。 |
