1	聖宗文武大孝宣皇帝，諱隆緒，小字文殊奴。景宗皇帝長子，母曰睿智皇后蕭氏。帝幼喜書翰，十歲能詩。既長，精射法，曉音律，好繪畫。 The Holy Emperor Wenwu Daxiao Xuan Huangdi, whose personal name was Longxu and childhood name Wenshunu. He was the eldest son of Emperor Jingzong. His mother was Empress Ruizhi, a member of the Xiao clan. The emperor showed an early interest in literature and could compose poetry at the age of ten. As he grew older, he became skilled in archery, understood musical scales, and had a fondness for painting.
2	乾亨二年，封梁王。 In the second year of Qianheng, he was granted the title of Prince Liang.

Tongzhengshi Menxia Pingzhangshi Xiao Daoning led his native troops stationed at Nanjing. On the Yichou day, he went to Xian Zhou.

On the Xinwei day, the commander of southwest border defense, Qin Wang Han Kuangsi, passed away. On the Gouyou day, the late emperor's palace was moved to Zoutu Hall. On the Gengchen day, officials of Zhongtai Sheng were reorganized and appointed.

An order was given for Kandu to personally deliver the bow of Xiuge Buche Pang in order to convey a message to the people of Yan. On the XinSi day, Susa presented captives from Zhubu. At midday, Zhuozhou Cishi Anji reported that the Song were building a city in Hebei. The emperor issued an imperial decree ordering Nanjing military governor Yu Yue Xiuge to disrupt their efforts and prevent them from completing it. Zhao Fei, Princess Hugudian, Xi Wang Chouning, Chancellor Anning, Bei Da Wang Punuyu, Tiyin Qulie, Wu Wang Shao, Yu Wang Zhimiyu, Hengzhang, Guojiu, Khitan and Han officials all contributed funds for the construction of the imperial mausoleum. On the Guiwei day, Qi Guo Gongzhu led both internal and external court ladies to present gifts in a similar manner. On the Jiashen day, commander of southwest border defense Zhi Dewei reported that fifteen tribes of Dang had invaded the frontier; he led troops to attack and defeated them. On the Yiyou day, an edict was issued praising Susa for defeating Zhubu; it also instructed him to join forces with Da Han in attacking various tribes of Tangxiang.
8	丁亥，樞密使兼政事令室昉以年老請解兼職，詔不允。 On the Dinghai day, Shumishi and Zhongshulìng Shi Fang requested to resign from his concurrent posts due to old age; the imperial decree did not approve.

On the Jichou day, a report from Nanjing stated that it had been learned that Song was gathering large amounts of grain at its border and that the Song emperor would be going to Taishan. An imperial decree ordered Xiuge to prepare strictly for this. On the Jiawu day, Emperor Jingzong was buried in Qianling; Langan and Tala, a favored eunuch and court musician respectively, were sacrificed as attendants. The emperor and Empress Dowager therefore attached their writings to the late emperor's collection. On the Bingshen day, Empress Dowager went to the mausoleum to offer sacrifices. She ordered portraits of court ministers to be painted in Yurong Hall and granted different levels of rewards to workers involved in constructing the imperial tomb. On the Gengzi day, items left by the late emperor were bestowed upon members of the royal family and close ministers. On the XinChou day, Tongjunshi Yelv Shanbu of Nanjing reported that more than seventy villages from Song's border had submitted to them. The emperor issued an order to console and provide for these people. On the Yisi day, Yurong Hall was renamed Jade Hall, and Jiugu was renamed Shenggu. Susa submitted a report on his successful campaign against Tangxiang; envoys were sent to commend and comfort him. On the Wushen day, Tiyin Huage was appointed Bei yuan Da Wang, while Jie Ling became Nanfu Chancellor. On the XinHai day, he visited Shengshan and then paid homage at the three mausoleums. Envoys were sent to reward the generals and soldiers who had distinguished themselves in the southwest region. On the Xinyou day, Dafu zhang Taiwei Yelv Heluyu was appointed Tiyin. On the Jizi day, he made a halt at Pingding by Liao He River. On the XinSi day, Guojiu and Tongpingzhangshi Xiao Daoning was appointed Liaoxing Jiedushi, and was also granted the title Zhongliang Zuoli Gongchen. On the Renyin day, sacrifices were offered at Ningshen Hall.

On the Yisi day, people were sent with wine and dried meat to offer sacrifices at the tomb of Pinghangshi Yelv Heyang. On the Gengxu day, he visited the residence of Lady Wugeli and paid homage to Taizu's portrait. After completing the ceremony, he went on to visit Princess Hugudian for a drink, bestowing generous gifts upon her. On the Renzi day, ministers suggested that since the empress dowager had been involved in governance while still mourning, she should be granted an honorific title and requested that relevant officials prepare detailed coronation ceremonies. An imperial decree was issued by the Shumiyuan, instructing border commanders that on the day of the ceremony, only their sons and grandsons should be sent to present memorials and offer congratulations in order to avoid neglecting frontier defenses. The Shumishi requested an imperial decree for Bei Fu Siku Pode to translate the legal texts submitted by Nanjing; this was approved. He then proceeded to Hui Zhou. Yelv Qinglang was appointed Jiedushi of Xin Zhou.

An imperial decree was issued ordering Bei Fu Wang Yelv Pununing to dispatch forces from the Dibi and DieLie tribes to join them. On the Guihai day, since Yu Yue Xiuge had excessively used officials and staff in Nan yuan, an imperial decree was issued instructing Nan Da Wang not to follow this practice. On the Gengwu day, Yelv Shanbu recruited over a thousand households of those who had fled to Song and brought them back to the country; an imperial decree ordered that they be consoled and provided for. On the Xinwei day, he stopped at Yong Zhou and offered sacrifices at the tomb of Prince Yaoshinu. On the Yihai day, an imperial decree summoned close ministers to discuss the coronation ceremony for Empress Dowager's honorific title. Shumishi Han Dedu drafted a proposal based on historical precedents of Later Han empress dowagers overseeing court affairs and submitted it. On the Bingzi day, black oxen and white horse were sacrificed to Heaven and Earth. On the Wuyin day, he visited Muye Shan. The commander of southwest border defense Dahan reported that recently he had sent Yuelacila Ge to convey messages to various tribes of Tangxiang, and many had come in response. An imperial decree issued commendation for this achievement.
15	六月乙酉朔，詔有司，冊皇太后日給三品以上法服，三品以下用大射柳之服。西南路招討使使奏黨項酋長執夷離堇子隈引等乞內附，詔撫納之，仍察其誠偽，謹邊備。丙戌，還上京。 On the first day of June, which was a Yiyou day, an imperial decree ordered relevant officials that on the coronation day for Empress Dowager, those above third rank should be given official robes according to their ranks, while those below third rank would wear the attire used in the grand willow-shooting ceremony. The commander of southwest border defense submitted a report stating that the chieftain of Tangxiang had captured Wei Yin, son of Yili Jin, and requested to submit. An imperial decree ordered them to be consoled and accepted, while also instructing them to examine their sincerity or deceit and remain vigilant in frontier defenses. On the Bingxu day, he returned to Shangjing.
16	己丑，有司奏，同政事門下平章事、駙馬都尉盧俊與公主不協，詔離之，遂出俊為興國軍節度使。辛卯，有事於太廟。甲午，上率群臣上皇太后尊號曰承天皇太后，群臣上皇帝尊號曰天輔皇帝，大赦，改元統和。丁未，覃恩中外，文武官各進爵一級。 On the Jichou day, relevant officials reported that Tongzhengshi Menxia pingzhangshi and Fuma Duyi Lu Jun had a discordant relationship with his princess. The emperor issued an edict to dissolve their marriage, and consequently exiled Lu Jun as Jiedushi of Xingguo Jun. On the Xinmao day, ceremonies were held at Taitemple. On the Jiawu day, the emperor led ministers in bestowing on Empress Dowager the honorific title Chengtian Huangdou Taihou. Ministers also conferred upon the emperor the honorific title Tianshu Huangdi; a general pardon was issued and the era name changed to Tonghe. On the Dingwei day, grace was extended throughout the empire, with both civil and military officials each receiving a promotion of one rank.

On the Jichou day, he paid homage at Zu Ling. On the Xinmao day of August in the fifth year of Tonghe, Empress Dowager offered sacrifices to the tomb of Prince Chu Guowang Xiao Siwen. On the Kuisi day, the emperor and Empress Dowager visited Huailing, then proceeded to Huaizhou. On the Bingchen day of September, the governor of Nanjing reported that autumn rains had damaged crops and requested a temporary suspension of customs duties to facilitate grain trade with Shanxi; this was approved. On the Wuzi day, Princess Shuge was married to Xiangwen Zhaogu, an imperial uncle. On the Gengchen day, the emperor and Empress dowager offered sacrifices at Qianling, and a further decree was issued addressing the Left and Right Chancellors of the three capitals, the Left and Right Ping Zhang Shi, deputy governors in charge of administration, secretaries to military governors across various circuits, military officers, and assistant magistrates: they were instructed to act with impartiality and not show favoritism. County magistrates and their assistants, if encountering local officials or imperial envoys making unreasonable demands, must not fear or comply out of deference. They should constantly monitor and report such incidents to determine rewards and punishments accordingly. If there are people in the common folk who, while their parents are still alive, live separately under different household registrations and residences, neighbors and local communities should report such cases, and those responsible will be punished. Those who demonstrate filial piety to their parents and live together for three generations shall have their doorways honored with official recognition.
23	十二月壬竿朔，謁凝神殿，遣使分祭諸陵，賜守殿官屬酒。 On the first day of December, which was a Ren Gan day (February 10, 987 in the Julian calendar), homage was paid at Ningshen Hall. Envoys were dispatched to offer sacrifices separately at various mausoleums, and wine was bestowed upon the officials guarding the halls.
24	是日，幸顯州。丁亥，以顯州歲貢綾錦分賜左右。甲午，東幸。 On this day, he visited Xian Zhou. On the Dinghai day (March 5, 987 according to the Julian calendar), the annual tribute of brocade from Xian Zhou was distributed as gifts to the left and right sides of court. On the Jia Wu day (March 12, 988 in the Julian calendar), he traveled eastward.
25	己亥，皇太後觀漁於玉盆灣。辛丑，觀漁於浚淵。甲辰，敕諸刑闢已結正決遣而有冤者，聽詣臺訴。是夕，然萬魚燈於雙溪。 On the Ji Hai day (April 6, 988 according to the Julian calendar), Empress Dowager observed fishing at Yupen Wan. On the Xin Chou day, fishing was observed at Xunyuan. On the Jia Chen day (May 2, 988), an imperial decree was issued stating that any person who had been convicted of a capital crime and found to be innocent after sentencing could appeal to the court. That evening, ten thousand fish lanterns were lit at Shuangxi.
26	戊申，千齡節，祭日月，禮畢，百僚稱賀。 On the Wushen day (May 16, 988 in Julian calendar), it was Qianling Festival. Sacrifices were made to the sun and moon; after the ceremony concluded, all officials offered congratulations.
27	二年春正月甲子，如長濼。 In the second year of Tianzuo, on the Jiazi day of spring's first month (February 1, 983 in the Julian calendar), he went to Changse.

On the Jia Wu day, General Yelv Dibu was bestowed spring clothes and a sash. loyd On the Bing Shen day, Ye Lu Pu Ning, commander of the eastern expedition and Xuanwei Shi, reported a successful campaign against the Jurchens. Envoys were sent to personally congratulate and commend him. On the Gengzi day, he paid a visit to Empress Dowager; she then accompanied him on a hunting trip in Niaole Chuan. On the Yisì day, Ye Lu Weichen, military governor of Wu Guo Wewei Yu Jue, requested an imperial edict granting him a sword and authority to act decisively in managing his jurisdiction, as he found it difficult to govern the various tribes under his command; this request was approved. On the Bingwu day (April 20, 984 according to Julian calendar), the emperor competed in archery with various princes and ministers. On the Dingwei day (April 21, 984), Han Dewei returned from his campaign against Tangxiang and then launched a surprise attack on Hedong. He presented captured prisoners to the emperor, who issued an edict praising him highly.
29	三月乙卯，劃離部請今後詳穩止從本部選授為宜，上曰：「諸部官惟在得人，豈得定以所部為限。」不允。贈故同平章事趙延煦兼侍中。 On the Yimao day (May 3, 984) in March, Huali Bu requested that Xiangwen positions should henceforth be filled exclusively by candidates from their own tribes. The emperor said: "Officials of various tribes must only be appointed based on merit; how can appointments be restricted solely to members of a particular tribe?" The request was not approved. Posthumously, the late Tong Ping Zhang Shi Zhao Yanyu was awarded the additional title of Shizhong.
30	夏四月丁亥，宣徽使、同平章事耶律普寧、都監蕭勤德獻征女直捷，授普寧兼政事令，勤德神武衛大將軍，各賜金器諸物。庚寅，皇太后臨決滯獄。辛卯，祭風件。壬辰，以宣徽南院劉承規為承德軍節度使，崇德宮都部署、保義軍節度使張德筠為宣徽北院使。 In summer, on the Dinghai day of April (June 14, 984 in Julian calendar), Xuanhui Shi and Tong Ping Zhangshi Yelv Puning, along with Du Jian Xiao Qinde, presented news of a successful campaign against Jurchen. Puning was awarded an additional title as Zhengshi Ling, while Qinde became Shenwu Wei Da Jiangjun; both were granted various gold items and other gifts. On the Gengyin day (June 17, 984 in Julian Calendar), Empress Dowager presided over the resolution of unresolved legal cases. On the Xinmao day (June 28, 984 on the Julian calendar), a sacrifice was made to Feng Jian. On the Rencheng day (June 29, 984 in Julius calendar), Liu Chenggui of Xuanhui Nanyuan was appointed as Commander of Chengde Jun. Zhang Deyun, former commander of Chongde Gong Du Boshu and Baoyi Jun Jiedushi, was appointed as Xuanhui Beiyuan Shi.
31	五月乙卯，祠木葉山。丁丑，駐蹕沿柳湖。 On the Yimao day in May (July 19, 984 Julian calendar), sacrifices were made at Muyeshan. On the Dingchou day (August 20, 975 in the Julian calendar) he halted his journey along Yanliuhu.
32	六月巳卯朔，皇太后決獄，至月終。秋七月癸丑，皇太后行再生禮。 On the first day of June, which was a Xinmao day (August 30, 984 in Julia calendar), Empress Dowager reviewed legal cases and continued doing so until the end of the month. On the Guichou day of autumn's first lunar month, Empress Dowager performed the Rebirth Ceremony.
33	八月辛卯，東京留守兼侍中耶律末只奏，女直術不直、賽裡等八族乞舉眾內附，詔納之。 On the Xinmao day in August (October 30, 975 according to Julian calendar), Yelv Mozhi, governor of Dongjing and concurrently Shizhong, reported that eight tribes of Jurchen, including Shubuzhi and Sali, requested to submit with their entire population. An edict was issued accepting them.

On the Kuiwei day (May 28, 1059 in Julian calendar), Wang Tingxu of Zuo Jianmen Wei Da Jiangjun was appointed as Commander-in-Chief for Fengxian Jun; Han De Ning, former commander of Zhangwu Jun, became commander of Chongyi Jun.

On the Dingmao day (December 30, 1136 in Julian calendar), envoys dispatched to inspect military equipment of various forces in Dongjing and survey roads for an eastern expedition. Tong Ping Zhangshi Xiao Daoning was appointed as Commander-in-Chief, Zhaode Jun; Guo Xi, former commander of Wuding Jun and Keeper of Sikong with concurrent title Zhengshi Ling, became Commander-in-Chief Tianping Jun; Liu Yangu, former commander of Datong Jun and Keeper of Taishi Taishou with concurrent title Zhengshi Ling was appointed as Commander-in Chief of Yicheng Jun. Posthumously, Shangfu Qin Wang Han Kuangsi was awarded the title of Shangshu Ling.

On the Bingxu day (November 4, 1325 in Julian calendar), seven brave warriors were presented by Peishi Xiangwen from the north. On the Wuzi day (November 6, 1345 in Julian calendar), Xiao Shi, wife of Guo Nan Yuan Da Wang Xialing Yilili Wan, petitioned that she was unable to bury her deceased husband; an imperial decree ordered relevant officials to assist her. On the Gengyin day (November 8, 1365 in Julian calendar), the Commander-in-Chief of the eastern expedition reported that the road was still mired and it was not yet feasible to advance for an attack; an imperial decree ordered them to wait until the swamp dried up before proceeding deeply. On the Guisi day (November 11, 1385 in Julian calendar), Empress Dowager visited Xian Ling. On the Geng Da day (December 9, 1405 in Julian calendar), a visit was made to Qian Ling. On the XinChou day (January 8, 1426 in Julian calendar), he traveled westward.

On the Dingchou day (December 18, 973 in Julian calendar), an edict was issued appointing the wife of Inspector General of Eastern Northern Route Troops, Potali, to console and care for border civilians. On the Wuyin day (December 20, 983 in Julian calendar), Princess Hugudian was bestowed with gold and silk as well as craftsmen for her husband's burial. On the Xinmao day (January 1, 994 in Julian calendar), Han Derang was appointed concurrently as Zhengshi Ling. On the Guisi day (January 3, 1004 in Julian calendar), it was prohibited to trade cloth and silk of substandard measurements at the market near the imperial residence. On the Bingshen day, an eastern expedition was launched against the Jurchens. The Commander-in-Chief Xiao Talan and Pusana Nu submitted reports on the distances traveled, as well as the local products encountered along their military campaign route.
