English translation: AI and Chinese Text Project users [?] Library Resources
Cai Yong, the imperial edict asked about a black vapor that fell in the eastern courtyard of Wenming Palace. It was like a carriage canopy, rising up and moving vigorously, displaying five colors, with a head; its body was more than ten zhang long, shaped like a dragon or a rainbow. Yong replied: "Rainbows appear in the sky, but now one has descended into the courtyard. According to what I have heard, this is called 'tian tou ni,' a rainbow cast down from heaven."

A rainbow appeared in daylight before the courtyard of Yizuodian. Its color was blue and red. The emperor summoned Yong to ask about it, and he replied: "Rainbows are omens of minor female figures."

Cai Yong was transferred to Suofang. He submitted a memorial requesting his return, and continued completing the Ten Records (Shizhi).
