邓陟，字昭伯。邓训五子，及女弟为贵人，立为皇后，陟三迁虎贲中郎将。延平元年，拜为车骑将军、仪同三司。仪同三司始自陟也。 |
| | Deng Zhi, courtesy name Zhaobo. Deng Xun had five sons, and his younger sister became a guiren (a title for concubines of the emperor). She was made empress, and Deng Zhi was promoted three times to become General of the Guards. In the first year of Yanping, he was appointed as Chaji General and granted the same ceremonial status as the Three Excellencies. The title "Yitong Sansi" (ceremonial status equal to the Three Excellencies) began with Deng Zhi.

| | Deng Zhi and his brothers often resided within the palace. Deng Zhi, however, was modest and wished not to remain inside for long; he repeatedly requested to return home, and the empress dowager finally granted permission.

| | In the first year of Yongchu, Deng Zhi was awarded an additional fief of 3,000 households for his role in determining the succession plan. He refused but was not allowed to do so; he then evaded the envoys and secretly submitted a memorial, explaining his situation.
