| | Yi Daowu went to Wu Jun. The governor of Yangzhou, Liu Youzhen, provided grain and clothing for what was lacking, but he did not accept any of it. Later, he went east to Kuaiji and stayed at the former residence of Zhongli Yi, the former Lu Xiang, in Shanyin Xian. The governor Wang Lang sent him provisions of grain, cloth, silk, cattle, and sheep, but he left none of them. At the time of his departure, every item in the house, no matter how small, was carefully listed and handed over to the owner, with not a single detail omitted. When he moved to live in the residence of Qu Yu, an official of Yangzhou, there was a single tangerine tree in the central courtyard. When the fruit ripened, he placed bamboo fences around all four sides of the tree. Two fruits fell due to the wind and were tied back onto the branches with ropes. Whenever faced with urgent dangers, his resolve became even stronger; all his guests and attendants were deeply respectful of his conduct.
