| | Lu Pi, courtesy name Shuling, devoted himself to study with tireless diligence day and night. He was also well-versed in the Five Classics and became a great Confucian scholar of his time. He was appointed as the prime minister of Zhao. In governance, he emphasized leniency, kindness, and courtesy. Although holding an official post, he did not abandon teaching; his students often numbered in the hundreds. In Guandong, he was hailed as "Lu Shuling who revived the Five Classics."

| | Emperor He summoned various Confucian scholars, and Lu Pi debated on several matters with Attendant-in-Ordinary Jia Kui, Minister of the Yellow Gate Huang Xiang, and others. The emperor was pleased with Lu Pi's responses. After dismissing court, he specially bestowed official headgear, shoes, and a belt upon him.
