| | Zhu Fu wrote to Peng Chong and rebuked him, saying: "Bo Tong is self-conceited, thinking his achievements surpass those of all under heaven." In the past, there was a pig in Liaodong that gave birth to an offspring with white hair; it was considered unusual and presented as a gift. When they traveled to Hedong, they saw flocks of pigs that were all white-haired, felt ashamed, and returned. "If your achievements are discussed in the imperial court, you would be like the Liaodong pig."

| | The emperor did not mobilize against Peng Chong. Zhu Fu submitted a memorial with earnest remonstration, saying: "For consecutive years of defense and resistance, the officials and soldiers have grown weary; armor is infested with lice, bows and crossbows cannot be relaxed, superiors and subordinates alike are anxiously distressed, and the large army hopes to receive mercy and sustenance." "The emperor has forgotten them in Hebei, and I truly do not know why this is so."
