| | In summer, the fourth month, on the Dingji day, our lord Duke Xi was buried. Calling a death "the passing of the Gong" is an elevation in status. The Heavenly King sent Mao Bo to come and bestow an official appointment upon the Duke. Rites include receiving a mandate, but not having it bestowed from afar; to bestow a mandate is not proper. Duke of Jin attacked Wei. Shusun Dechen went to the capital. The people of Wei attacked Jin.
