八年六月丙辰,緱氏地裂。
On the Bingchen day of June in the eighth year, ground fissures occurred Guoshi.

74 五行四:
永康元年五月丙午,雒陽高平永壽亭、上黨泫氏地各裂。是時朝臣患中常侍王甫等專恣。冬,桓帝崩。明年,竇氏等欲誅常侍、黃門,不果,更為所誅。
On the Bingwu day in May of the first year Yongkang, ground fissures separately occurred at Gao Ping Yongshou Ting, Luoyang and Xuan Shi, Shangdang. At that time court officials were troubled by the arbitrary power of Zhongchangshi Wang Fu and others. In winter, Emperor Huan died. The following year, the Dou family and others attempted to execute the Zhongchangshi and Huangmen officials but failed; instead, they were executed by them.

75 五行四:
靈帝建寧四年五月,河東地裂十二處,裂合長十里百七十步,廣者三十餘步,深不見底。
In May of the fourth year Jianning during Emperor Ling's reign, ground fissures appeared at twelve locations in Hedong. The longest fissure was ten li and 170 bu long; some were more than thirty bu wide, with depths unseen to the bottom.

76 五行四:
和帝永元五年五月戊寅,南陽大風,拔樹木。
On the Wuyin day of May in the fifth year Yongyuan during Emperor He's reign, a strong wind struck Nanyang, uprooting trees.

77 五行四:
安帝永初元年,大風拔樹。是時鄧太后攝政,以清河王子年少,號精耳,故立之,是為安帝。不立皇太子勝,以為安帝賢,必當德鄧氏也;後安帝親讒,廢免鄧氏,令郡縣迫切,死者八九人,家至破壞。此為瞉霿也,是後西羌亦大亂涼州十有餘年。
In the first year Yongchu under Emperor An's reign, a great wind uprooted trees. At that time Empress Dowager Deng was regent; because the son of Prince of Qinghe was young and called Jing'er, she placed him on the throne. He became Emperor An. She did not place Crown Prince Sheng on the throne because she believed that Emperor An was virtuous and would surely show virtue toward the Deng family. Later, Emperor An trusted sycophants and dismissed the Deng clan; he ordered commanderies and counties to act urgently. Eight or nine people were executed, and their families were completely ruined. This was a case of darkness and confusion; after this, the western Qiang also caused great disorder in Liangzhou for more than ten years.

78 五行四:
二年六月,京都及郡國四十大風拔樹。
In June of the second year, strong winds uprooted trees in the capital and 40 commanderies and states.

79 五行四:
三年五月癸酉,京都大風,拔南郊道梓樹九十六枚。
On the Guiyou day of May in the third year, strong winds struck the capital, uprooting 96 cypress trees along the southern suburban road.

80 五行四:
七年八月丙寅,京都大風拔樹。
In August of the seventh year on the Bingyin day, a strong wind struck the capital and uprooted trees.

81 五行四:
元初二年二月癸亥,京都大風拔樹。
On the Guihai day in February of the second year Yuanchu, a great wind struck the capital city and uprooted trees.

82 五行四:
六年夏四月,沛國、勃海大風,拔樹三萬餘枚。
In April summer of the sixth year, strong winds hit Pei Guo and Bohai, uprooting more than 30,000 trees.

83 五行四:
延光二年三月丙申,河東、潁川大風拔樹。六月壬午,郡國十一大風拔樹。是時安帝親讒,曲直不分。
On the Bingshen day of March in the second year Yanguang, strong winds struck Hedong and Yingchuan, uprooting trees. On the Renwu day of June, strong winds uprooted tress in 11 commanderies and states. At that time Emperor An trusted sycophantic advisors and could not distinguish between right and wrong.

84 五行四:
三年,京都及郡國三十六大風拔樹。
In the third year, great winds uprooted trees in both the capital city and 36 commanderies and states.

85 五行四:
靈帝建寧二年四月癸巳,京都大風雨雹,拔郊道樹十圍已上百餘枚。其後晨迎氣黃郊,道於雒水西橋,逢暴風雨,道鹵簿車或發蓋,百官霑濡,還不至郊,使有司行禮。迎氣西郊,亦壹如此。
On the Guisi day of April in the second year Jianning during Emperor Ling's reign, a violent wind and hailstorm struck the capital; more than one hundred trees with trunks ten zhi in circumference were uprooted along the suburban roads. After that, when the emperor was about to conduct a ceremony at Huangjiao in the morning, he traveled along the western bridge of Luoshui River. Suddenly, a violent storm struck; some of the ceremonial vehicles lost their canopies, officials were drenched by rain, and they returned without reaching the sacrificial site. The ritual was then carried out by appointed officials instead. The ceremony at the western suburbs also proceeded in this manner.

86 五行四:
中平五年六月丙寅,大風拔樹。
On the Bingyin day of June in the fifth year Zhongping, a strong wind uprooted trees.

87 五行四:
獻帝初平四年六月,右扶風大風,發屋拔木。
In June of the fourth year Chuping during Emperor Xian's reign, a powerful wind struck Youfufeng, destroying houses and uprooting trees.

88 五行四:
中興以來,脂夜之妖無錄者。
Since the middle revival period, there have been no records of omens related to "zhi ye."

89 五行四:
章帝七八年閒,郡縣大螟傷稼,語在魯恭傳,而紀不錄也。是時章帝用竇皇后讒,害宋、梁二貴人,廢皇太子。
During the seventh and eighth years of Emperor Zhang's reign, locust plagues severely damaged crops in commanderies and counties; this is mentioned in the biography of Lu Gong but not recorded here. At that time, Emperor Zhang trusted the slander of Empress Dou and harmed Lady Song and Lady Liang; he deposed Crown Prince.

90 五行四:
靈帝熹平四年六月,弘農、三輔螟蟲為害。是時靈帝用中常侍曹節等讒言,禁錮海內清英之士,謂之黨人。
In June of the fourth year Xiping during Emperor Ling's reign, locusts caused damage in Hongnong and Sanfu. At that time, Emperor Ling trusted the slanderous words of Zhongchangshi Cao Jie and others, and suppressed virtuous scholars throughout the empire, calling them "faction members."

91 五行四:
中平二年七月,三輔螟蟲為害。
In July of the second year Zhongping, locusts caused harm in Sanfu.

92 五行四:
明帝永平十八年,牛疫死。是歲遣竇固等征西域,置都護、戊己校尉。固等適還而西域叛,殺都護陳睦、戊己校尉關寵。於是大怒,欲復發興討,會秋明帝崩,是思心不容也。
In the eighteenth year Yongping during Emperor Ming's reign, cattle died from an epidemic. That year, Dou Gu and others were sent to campaign in the Western Regions; they established posts for the Du Hu (Protector General) and Wuji Jiao Wei (Wuji Commandant). Just as Dou Gu and others returned, the Western Regions rebelled, killing Du Hu Chen Mu and Wuji Jiao Wei Guan Chong. The emperor was greatly angered and wanted to launch another campaign, but coincidentally Emperor Ming died in autumn; this was a matter of sorrow too great to bear.

93 五行四:
章帝建初四年冬,京都牛大疫。是時竇皇后以宋貴人子為太子,寵幸,令人求伺貴人過隙,以讒毀之。章帝不知竇太后不善,厥咎霿也。或曰,是年六月馬太后崩,土功非時興故也。
In winter of the fourth year Jianchu during Emperor Zhang's reign, cattle were struck by an epidemic in the capital. At that time, Empress Dou had Emperor Zhang name a son of Lady Song as crown prince and favored him; she ordered people to search for faults in Lady Song so that she could slander her. Emperor Zhang did not know of Empress Dowager Dou's wickedness; this was an error caused by ignorance and confusion. Some say that in June of this year, Empress Dowager Ma died, so earthworks were carried out at an inappropriate time.
