唐調露中，大帝欲封中嶽，屬突厥叛而止。後又欲封，土蕃入寇又停。至永淳年，又駕幸嵩嶽。謠云：「嵩山凡幾層，不畏登不得，只畏不得登。三度徵兵馬。傍道打騰騰。」嶽下遘疫，不愈。廻至宮而崩。出《朝野僉載》
