闰三月乙卯朔，褫杨芳、怡良职，仍留任。丙寅，汤金钊降调，调卓秉恬为吏部尚书、协办大学士，祁寯藻为户部尚书，以许乃普为兵部尚书。丁卯，召伊里布来京，以裕谦为两江总督，命定海防务交刘韵珂办理。调梁章钜为江苏巡抚，以周之琦为广西巡抚。乙亥，谕奕山等抚恤各国洋商。是月，贷山西吉州等十州县暨和林格尔厅上年歉收仓谷。蠲缓江苏宿迁县被水滩租。

五月己酉，大学士王鼎暴卒。丙辰，降汤金钊为光禄寺卿。丁巳，汤金钊乞休，允之。戊午，奕山以查奏不实，褫左都御史，并祁𡎴、梁宝常褫职留任。己未，礼部尚书色克精额卒，以恩桂代之。以吉伦泰为理藩院尚书。以奎照为左都御史。壬戌，英人陷江苏宝山县，提督陈化成死之。命耆英、伊里布赴江苏，会同牛鉴防剿。丁卯，英人陷上海县，典史杨庆恩死之。命赛尚阿为钦差大臣，会同讷尔经额防剿。是月，贷江苏山阳县及淮安等二县卫歉收籽种。
