绚问先生相别求所以教曰人之相爱者相告戒必曰凡事当善处然只在仗忠信只不忠信便是不善处也

有人治园圃役知力甚劳先生曰蛊之象君子以振民育德君子之事惟有此二者馀无他为二者为己为人之道也为己为人呉本作治己治人

博学而笃志切问而近思何以言仁在其中矣学者要思得之了此便是彻上彻下之道

曽子曰士不可以不𢎞毅任重而道逺先生曰𢎞而不毅则难立毅而不𢎞则无以居之西铭言𢎞之道

中庸始言一理中散为万事末复合为一理中庸曰大哉圣人之道洋洋乎发育万物峻极于天优优大哉礼仪三百威仪三千待其人而后行故曰苟不至德至道不凝焉皆是一贯

持国曰若有人便明得了者伯淳信乎曰若有人则岂不信葢必有生知者然未见之也凡云为学者皆为此以下论孟子曰尽其心者知其性也知性则知天矣存其心养其性所以事天便是至言

佛氏不识隂阳昼夜死生古今安得谓形而上者与圣人同乎

佛言前后际断纯亦不已是也彼安知此哉子在川上曰逝者如斯夫不舍昼夜自汉以来儒者皆不识此义此见圣人之心纯亦不已也诗曰维天之命于穆不已葢曰天之所以为天也于乎不显文王之德之纯葢曰文王之所以为文也纯亦不已此乃天德也有天德便可语王道其要只在慎独

学要在敬也诚也中间便一作更有个仁博学而笃志切问而近思仁在其中矣之意敬主事

人之学不进只是不勇

或问系辞自天道言中庸自人事言似不同曰同系辞虽始从天理隂阳鬼神言之然卒曰黙而成之不言而信存乎德行中庸亦曰鬼神之为德莫盛矣乎视之而不见听之而不闻体物而不可遗使天下之人斋明盛服以承祭祀洋洋乎如在其上如在其左右诗曰神之格思不可度思矧可射思夫㣲之显诚之不可揜如此夫是岂不同

人多言广心浩大然未见其人也乐则行之忧则违之乐与忧皆道也非己之私也圣人致公心尽天地万物之理各当其分佛氏总为一己之私安得同乎圣人循理故平直而易行异端造作大小大费力非自然也故失之逺

易中只是言反覆往来上下

伊尹曰天之生斯民也使先知觉后知使先觉觉后觉予天民之先觉者也予将以斯道觉斯民也释氏之云觉甚底是觉斯道甚底是觉斯民
