3  | 时李愿出任宣武节度使，宠任妻弟窦瑷，骄贪不法，贻怨军中。牙将李臣则作乱，杀瑷逐愿，推押牙李■为留后。监军据实奏闻，有诏令宰相及三省官会议，或谓当如河北故事，授■节钺。逢吉力驳道：「河北事出自无奈，今若并汴州弃置。恐江淮以南，均非国家有了。」此语确是。适宋亳颍州，亦各奏请命帅，逢吉入白穆宗，请征■入朝，令韩弘弟韩充出镇宣武。穆宗从逢吉言，遣使召■，■不受命，诏令忠武节度使李光颜，兖海节度使曹华，出兵讨■，屡败■军。韩充入汴境，又败■兵于郭桥。■尝与兵马使李质友善，质屡次劝谏，■不肯从。会■因郁愤，疽发卧家质乘间突入，斩■示众，众皆骇服，遂出城迎充。充既视事，人心粗定，乃密籍军中党恶千馀人，尽行逐出，且下令道：「敢少留境内者斩！」于是军政大治。李质得加授金吾大将军。 |
