49  | 始延儒里居，颇从东林游，善姚希孟、罗喻义。既陷钱谦益，遂仇东林。及主会试，所取士张溥、马世奇等，又皆东林也。至是归，失势，心内惭。而体仁益横，越五年始去。去而张至发、薛国观相继当国，与杨嗣昌等并以娼嫉称。一时正人郑三俊、刘宗周、黄道周等，皆得罪。溥等忧之，说延儒曰：「公若再相，易前辙，可重得贤声。」延儒以为然。溥友吴昌时为交关近侍，冯铨复助为谋。会帝亦颇思延儒，而国观适败。十四年二月诏起延儒。九月至京，复为首辅。寻加少师兼太子太师，进吏部尚书、中极殿大学士。 |
