84  | 时贼党刘进忠驻兵遂宁县，与汉中相拒。汉中守将，乃马科也；马科原系李自成部将，陜西战败，投顺大清，领兵万馀守汉中，将窥西川。进忠恃勇，颇轻科；而进忠不受约，私发部下兵袭汉中，与马科再战再败，折兵大半，仍归驻遂宁。献忠闻进忠败回，大怒，命伪翰林写敕让进忠。献忠一字不识，凡平日发敕书与群下必口述过；不论鄙恶，悉照其口语书之。如差一字，便杀代书者。是时进忠在遂宁，忽传朝廷有敕书至，即传合邑有司、乡绅、士民郊外迎敕至公所拜辞毕，命生员登坛开读，官民跪听；但闻其上高声读云：『奉天承运皇帝诏曰：咱老子叫你不要往汉中去，你强要往汉中去；如今果然折了许多兵马驴球子，入你妈妈的𣬼！钦哉』。文武士民俱向上叩首，呼万岁谢恩而退。进忠知献忠怒甚，料不能免；于是带兵连夜入汉中求马科投大清矣。 |
